Event
Volunteer habitat work with HHFT staff along the corridor: invasive removal, planting and site care. No experience needed; tools and gloves provided.
Real event, taken from hhft.org's volunteer page as it stood on 7 August 2026. The meeting point, start time and registration details shown here are prototype detail — HHFT confirms them when you register.
Eco-Stewards are HHFT's volunteer corps. On a work day you will be pulling invasive species, planting natives, or preparing a site, working alongside staff for about three hours.
Bring closed sturdy shoes, long trousers and sleeves, more water than you think you need, and sun protection. Tools, gloves and instruction are provided. Check Conditions the morning of — August work days on this corridor have run under Heat Advisories, and we will move or shorten a day rather than run it in dangerous heat.
No toilet at the meeting point; the nearest is in Cold Spring village, about a mile away. No shade at the work area for part of the morning. If you want to take part and the terrain is a barrier, email info@hhft.org — there is other work, and being told what is possible is more useful than being told everyone is welcome.
Every heading above appears on every event, including the ones where the answer is no. A missing heading is ambiguous; “ASL interpreted: No” is information.
