About
News
Announcements as dated records with their own addresses, so an item can be linked, filtered, syndicated and found — instead of stacked on one page six years deep.
Six years of announcements currently sit stacked on a single page of nearly 7,000 words with 45 attached PDFs, and not one of them has an address you can send to somebody. Here each announcement is a record with its own URL, date, topic and attachments — findable in search, filterable by topic, and linkable from an email.

Eco-Steward work day
Little Stony Point — Meet at the Little Stony Point parking area on Route 9D. Look for the HHFT banner. Parking there is limited and fills early on summer weekends; the walk from Cold Spring station is about a mile along the road shoulder, so arriving by train means allowing 25 minutes on foot.
Volunteer habitat work with HHFT staff along the corridor: invasive removal, planting and site care. No experience needed; tools and gloves provided.

Tide talk at Dockside Park
Dockside Park — Meet at the Dockside Park waterfront, about a five-minute walk from Cold Spring Metro-North station.
Forty-five minutes at the water's edge on what it means that the Hudson here is a tidal estuary — timed to low water so there is something to look at.

Eco-Steward work day
Little Stony Point — Meet at the Little Stony Point parking area on Route 9D. Look for the HHFT banner.

Demonstration content
The three items in this prototype were written by us from verified public sources — the MTA's timetable data, New York State Parks' published documents, and HHFT's own volunteer page — to show the article template and the news record model. They are not HHFT statements. Real announcements migrate from the current site as part of the content migration.

Eco-Steward work days continue through the autumn
Volunteer habitat work days along the corridor run through the season. No experience needed; the work is on uneven ground and the listings say so.

Breakneck Ridge station is closed — and journey planners will not tell you
The station closed on 21 April 2025 for a rebuild delivered with the Breakneck Connector. Because it has no rows in Metro-North's timetable data, most apps show nothing rather than a closure.

The Final GEIS was accepted in January 2026 — what that means for the trail
New York State Parks accepted the Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement as lead agency on 7 January 2026. It is the document behind almost every specific number on this website.
3 items in the prototype content set. On the live site these are paragraphs on a single page with no URLs of their own; here each one is a record with a permalink, a date and a section.
